Minna—Terrorists attacked a military checkpoint near Zuma rock in Niger State on Thursday night.
DailyPost reports that the insurgents arrived at the location: near Madalla town, close to Zuba, along the Abuja-Kaduna highway some minutes after 7 pm and opened fire on the troops, killing some.
It was gathered that they took control of the area for about 30 minutes shooting sporadically, before heading towards the Kaduna axis of the expressway.
In the aftermath, soldiers and Policemen from the nearby Zuma Barracks were deployed to the scene to beef up security.
Recall that days ago terrorists battled the Presidential Guards Brigade along the Kubwa-Bwari road in Abuja, where at least three personnel were killed in the ambush, while some others were wounded.
The Brigade is an elite arm of the Nigerian Army that is responsible for protecting the President of Nigeria.
