Yenagoa—The lawmaker representing Brass constituency II in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly Timi Agala Omubo has felicitated the minister of state for petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva on the occasion of his 58th birthday anniversary.
The lawmaker in a goodwill message made available to Mangrovepen.ng on Wednesday expressed gratitude to Sylva and described him as a mentor, political colossus, risk-taker, and pace-setter.
He noted that he is privileged to have been tutored by the former Bayelsa state governor who has been an inspiration to both young and old and a servant of humanity.
According to Agala-Omubo, the minister played the most significant role in him becoming a lawmaker, further helping him to become an effective representative of the people of Brass constituency II in the state legislature.
The lawmaker prayed for long life, sound health, and strength for Sylva to do more exploits in his already impactful life.
“Your Excellency, it is a great privilege to be under your outstanding tutelage that transforms boys into responsible revered men and girls into great virtuous women: a rare attribute that has qualified you as a Leaders’ Leader.
“From your youthful days as a Member of the old Rivers State House of Assembly till your current reign as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria now celebrating 58 productive years on earth, you have significantly dedicated your life to the service of humanity; demonstrating time and time again that in all we do, in all we become, we must remain humble and put the people first before self.
“In and out of office, you have been the modest and jovial Opu Abadi we know you to be, who gets loved by virtually everyone that meets you because of the imitable qualities you possess.
The statement reads in part:
“You remain an inspiration to both young and old. Every day, our hopes for a better tomorrow remain alive because of your leadership, and high, because of your progressive dreams.
“Our most venerable Leader, the fact that you belong to Nigeria cannot be gainsaid. Indeed you remain a patriotic Nigerian from the oil-rich Niger Delta region, particularly from the Ijaw extraction.
“And as a bonafide son of Bayelsa State, you hail from Nembeland, the home of some of the bravest and brightest humans on earth, of which you are one. However, the people of Brass Constituency II are extremely proud to own and also claim you as our very own.
“On your 58th birthday, I vividly recall and appreciate how, by the grace of God, you were instrumental to my emergence as a lawmaker to represent you and other constituents in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.
“You played the most significant role before, during, and after the 2019 assembly election and, since then, you have continued to assist and influence me in providing purposeful representation to our people, just like you are also providing unique leadership in the petroleum sector which remains the mainstay of the nation’s economy.”
