Ex-IYC chairman, Sokari picks PDP nomination form, gets support from constituency stakeholders

Port Harcourt—The convener of Vision Youths Development Initiative (VYDI) also known as Vision Youths Takeover, Hon. Sokari Goodboy Sokari on Tuesday picked his nomination and expression of interest forms to contest for the Ahoada West Constituency 1 seat in the Rivers State House of Assembly under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Sokari who is the pioneer chairman of the Abua Odual / Engenni Ogbogolo special chapter of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) in a chat with newsmen after picking his forms stated that the PDP remains the only party that can bring succor to Nigerians amidst the current economic and security challenges in the country caused by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He averred that his desire is for the people of Ahoada West Constituency 1 to feel the impact of true representation.

“By God’s grace, I will be a voice of effective, all-inclusive, and prosperous representation that will add value and effective leadership in the Rivers Assembly,” he said.

While thanking the PDP family in Ahoada West and the Chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Area, Hon. Hope Ikiriko for the opportunity given to him to serve, he promised to put the interest of the constituency above himself.

According to him, when elected, he will work closely with the council boss in a bid to bring the dividends of democracy to the people.

He thanked the PDP chairman in the Local Government, Chief Ikechukwu Obuzor and other critical stakeholders of the party for the mandate given to him and pledged not to betray the trust they have in him.

He admitted that “since the beginning of my political journey, I have been a proud member of the PDP. In 2023, we shall once again claim victory for our beloved party in Ahoada West Constituency 1 and represent our people creditably.”

The incumbent lawmaker, Hon. Nwanaka Okpokiri, Hon. Okpara Daddygreen, Chief Dressman Sunny and Chief Dennis Warmann are among the stakeholders who have thrown their weight behind the aspiration of Hon. Sokari Goodboy Sokari.
