2023: Obua obtains, dedicates PDP nomination form for House of Reps, solicits support from delegates, constituents

Ogbia—The lawmaker representing Ogbia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Azibapu Fred Obua has obtained his expression of interest and nomination forms to contest for a second term in the 2023 general election, mangrovepen.ng has gathered.

Obua who recently accepted a call from his constituents to contest for a second term obtained his forms at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Secretariat in Abuja, in the company of some party leaders and constituents.

The lawmaker who is the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Information, National Orientation, Ethics and Values was welcomed by a crowd of well-wishers when he arrived at the Bayelsa International Airport.

He then proceeded to Logos Ministries Incorporated Church to dedicate his forms

In his sermon, the district Pastor of the church, Rev. O. J. Oworibo, who stated that without God humans can do nothing, committed the aspiration of the lawmaker to God.

While presenting his forms to constituents who visited his country home in Emeyal community to felicitate with him, Obua averred that the constituency needs more of his achievements in the areas of bills and motions’ presentation, provision of empowerment materials, employment opportunities and facilitation of several infrastructural projects.

Obua, a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors and former Commissioner for Special Projects in Bayelsa State, also appreciated his constituents for believing in him and voting for him.

The lawmaker who pleaded with party delegates to vote for him appreciated the Bayelsa State Governor Senator Douye Diri for the ongoing shared prosperity across the state.

Obua also used the occasion to commiserate with former President Goodluck Jonathan, who lost two of his aides in a fatal auto accident in Abuja.

He condoled with the bereaved families, the Nigerian Police Force and appreciated God for sparing the life of Jonathan and others in the convoy.

Dignitaries and stakeholders who visited the lawmaker to felicitate with him include: High Chief Olord Bassuo, erstwhile Member of the House of Representatives and former National Chairman of Ogbia Brotherhood; Hon. Pious Otia, pioneer Chairman of PDP Ogbia, former Member of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly and current Technical Adviser to the Governor.

Others are Hon. Augustus Osomu, Esq,  former Member of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly; Hon. George Okirinya, former Chairman of Ogbia Local Government Area and Chairman, Bayelsa State Geographical Information Systems;
High Chief Don Evarada, Technical Adviser to the Governor on Public Affairs; Chief Ibokolo Osain, former Governor’s Special Representative, Ogbia; Elder Nadari Banigo, former Aide to Late Sen. Melford Okilo; Hon. Etoza Owede, deputy leader, Ogbia Legislative Assembly and Hon. Life Johnson, Secretary, Team Obua.

They all poured encomiums on the federal lawmaker for his sterling representation at the Green Chamber, saying that his reelection bid is acceptable to them as they believe he will do more if returned for another term.
