Yenagoa—Chairman of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Central Zone, Comrade Clever Inodu has declared his intention to contest the Nembe Constituency I Bayelsa State House of Assembly seat in the 2023 general elections.
This was contained in a statement titled “vision 2023” which was released on Monday and obtained by mangrovepen.ng.
Inodu in the statement noted that even before he declared his intention to run for the assembly office he has been getting calls from his constituents to contest.
While stating that the outpouring of love and encouragement from his constituents has been massive to contest for the seat, he noted that he has consulted widely with political leaders, elders, family and friends
Inodu who doubles as the Chairman, Zonal and Chapter Chairmen Forum,
Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide maintained that his reason to contest the assembly seat is born of the need to serve, unite and develop his people.
The statement reads in full:
“In the past weeks, I have been seriously engaged by my constituents through various platforms to contest in the forthcoming House of Assembly Elections in 2023.
“I have also received a series of blessings from several opinion leaders and elders even though I am yet to publicly declare my interest.
“Let me start by saying I am overwhelmed by your resolve and efforts to call me out to aspire and represent us in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.
“I have decided to make my stance clear today but before then, permit me to inform all that Clever Osuma Inodu is a man of service, unity and development and so my decision today is born out of my love for service to my people, their wellbeing and development and of course the massive support by various political leaders, elders, chiefs, youth and women leaders from my prestigious constituency who have recognized the potentials of their son that is capable of given them victory in the general elections.
“On this note, having consulted with God Almighty, political leaders, relevant stakeholders and game players, family, and friends, I have decided to accept the sacred call to service from my people which I place above self.
“I hereby officially inform my constituents and the general public that I will be contesting in the forthcoming primaries under the platform of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to represent the good people of Nembe Constituency 1 in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly come 2023.”
“I deeply appreciate the generous expressions of support and vote of confidence reposed in me by my constituents and other well-meaning individuals and groups.
“I look forward to your support. Surely, together we shall move Nembe Constituency 1 and Bayelsa to that special level called prosperity.”
