Nembe—The Solidarity Movement for SDD has presented the Chairman of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Central Zone, Comrade Clever Inodu to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as their choice in the forthcoming House of Assembly election for Nembe Constituency I, Bayelsa State.
The group presented Inodu to PDP faithful in Ogbolomabiri on Sunday.
The move comes a few days after a sociopolitical group, Okoroma Consultative Forum (OCF), urged political leaders and stakeholders to cede the House of Assembly seat for Nembe constituency I, in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State to either ward 9 or 10 in the 2023 general election. 
In his address, the leader of the group, Elder Stephen Ayi Kemmer, described ceding the Nembe Constituency 1 seat to ward 9 or 10 as sacrosanct, noting that since 1999 the people of Okoroma clan have never produced a member of the Bayelsa State Assembly.
He stated that Inodu remains the most capable and popular person to win the election for the PDP.
Kemmer noted that Inodu will offer better representation given his sterling performance and track record as Chairman of the IYC Central Zone.
In his remarks, Elder Stephen Amambogha, noted that Inodu possesses the stable character required to clinch the Nembe Constituency 1 seat for the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.
Amambogha who is a founding member of the PDP called on other aspirants planning to contest the Nembe Constituency 1 seat to support Inodu.
Also speaking, Chief Teknikio Korianda reposed confidence in the ability of Inodu to perform credibly given his antecedents.
A youth leader, Comrade Orikio Barigha noted that “over 80 percent of youths in Nembe Constituency 1 are currently benefitting from his goodwill, ranging from payment of tuition fees for undergraduate students, purchase of WAEC, NECO and JAMB forms, amongst others.”
A woman leader, Mrs. Daughter Otuma hailed Inodu for his respect for the Nembe culture and its people.
Her words, “Clever Inodu understands the custom and tradition of Nembe people, following his active participation in the just concluded King Koko Day celebration.
“The women of Nembe Constituency 1 have decided to support Comr. Clever Inodu who’s from the Okoroma axis.
“He is the kind of person that will save Nembe people from shame. We are presenting him to the Peoples Democratic Party.
“He sees Nembe as his Constituency. We don’t have another candidate. I call on all former lawmakers from Nembe Constituency 1, to join us in making sure Comr. Clever Inodu becomes the flag bearer of the PDP for Nembe Constituency 1.”
