Police arraign suspect over illegal possession of firearms in Yenagoa

Yenagoa—the Bayelsa State Police Command has arraigned in Court today one Kelvin Ekuere, over illegal possession of firearms.

The Police which made this known in a statement, through its spokesman, SP Asinim Butswat, said Kelvin Ekuere is also being investigated for attempted kidnapping.

The suspect, who is a 35 years old Indigene of Koluama community in Southern Ijaw Local Government area of Bayelsa State claimed he was working with one Tibiebi Woinemi Amadein.

Police sources said although Kelvin Ekuere was arrested for possession of firearms he and his alleged boss, Timiebi Woinnemi Amadein are being investigated for alleged involvement in a kidnapping attempt of one Chief Patrick Ekubo at Akenfa community in Yenagoa metropolis, Bayelsa state.

It was gathered that despite series of invitations by the police, Timiebi Amadein, an Assistant Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic party (PDP) in the state has neither honored the invitations nor given any explanation for his failure in doing so.
