Ijaw Women Connect announces date for National Day Celebration, annual Congress

Yenegoa—The Ijaw Women Connect, (IWC) Worldwide will hold its National Day celebration event on the 13th of November 2021.

The organization which has Mrs. Rosemary Aken John-Oduone as National President is a frontline women institution in Ijaw Nation to promote, protect, sustain and better the lot of Ijaw people all over the world.

The organization is also focused on agitating the unbearable marginalization, relegation and oppression of the Ijaw People by the Nigerian state.

The group, which has held many conferences and national summits in the past has tagged this year’s celebration as REAPPRAISAL OF THE IJAW QUEST IN NIGERIA; with a sub-theme APPRAISING THE IJAW NATION POLITICAL ECONOMY FROM PRE-COLONIAL ERA TO PRESENT DAY: WAY FORWARD.

Mangrovepen.ng gathered that the event is to be held both virtually and physically.

The physical session will hold at Azareels Place in Akenfa, Yenagoa by 1 pm prompt with highly distinguished sons and daughters of the Ijaw nation to address the numerous yearnings of the Ijaw People.

The event will have the renowned Ijaw-America trained strategies development manager, Amaopusenibo Bobo Osofiri as keynote speaker.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dauphin D. Moro, an environmental crusader is the Panelist, Dr. Timiebi Koripamo Agary. OON, KSM, a retired Federal permanent secretary will be the panel discussant and also Mr. Miabiye Kuromiema, former President of the Ijaw Youth Council.

The group urges all sons, daughters, political leaders, administrators, opinion leaders and lovers of the Ijaw Nation to turn up for the event, to collectively share ideas on how to proffer workable solutions to the challenges facing the Ijaw nation.
