Warri—Mark Anunobi, a former Super Eagles winger, on Friday, visited the Eagles Wing Football Academy the newly-established training camp in Warri, Delta State.
The ex-international football star admonished the upcoming football stars to remain focused and avoid the consumption of junk food capable of distorting their physical potentials.
“As one who has been on the field before you, I admonish you all to be focused, so you can achieve your dreams.
“In terms of maintaining your fitness, avoid junk food because it distorts your form.”
Anunobi commended the management of the Abuja based club for setting up a grassroots football development outfit in the oil-rich city of Warri.
“I want to commend you for contributing to the development of grassroots football by setting up this training camp in warri.
“Seeing the level of commitment from staff and management, it is my belief that stars will be born from this academy,” he said.
After having a warm handshake with the young players, Anunobi prayed for and equally had a group photo session with the young lads.
Anunobi, a member of the Flying Eagles squad, won the bronze medal at the Moscow 1985 Junior World Cup.
Meanwhile, Cordinator of the Warri training center of the Eagles Wing Football Academy, Victor Isereke, had told our reporter that registration is on for interested persons.
He called on parents/guardians to register their children/wards between the ages of 2-22 years.
The coordinator hinted that the academy is well-equipped with experienced facilitators, in line with its vision to transform budding footballers into international stars.
