Nigerian gospel singer, Gaise Baba has revealed his past battle with pornography addiction.
The ‘No Turning Back’ hitmaker shared his story in a recent interview on the WithChude podcast.
According to TheCable, Gaise disclosed that the addiction began when he was just 15 years old. He explained how the addiction took hold shortly after he made a personal vow to remain sexually pure until marriage.
Gaise, whose real name is Akinade Ibuoye, admitted that the struggle was intense, teaching him a sobering lesson about human vulnerability.
“I and my wife married as virgins. It took a while before we found the way. At 15, I knew what it feels like to see boobs in full glare, cleavage, ass.
“There is something you call covenant of purity, something you come to say I am not going to have sex until I get married,” he said.
“I just scribbled something, I signed it and went to give the pastor saying ‘this is my covenant of purity.’
“In fact, it was shortly after that I got addicted to porn. I knew that under the right temperature and pressure, any man can fall.”
The singer, who began his music career in 2005, gained significant recognition after releasing his hit single ‘No Turning Back’ featuring Lawrence Oyor.
His other songs include ‘Yield’, ‘Particularly’, ‘Elijah Level’, ‘Emergency’, ‘Lightout’ and ‘Talk Am’
