The Bayelsa State Chapter of the New Associates, a sociopolitical group, is preparing to organize its grand inauguration ceremony and mega rally said to be in honour of President Bola Tinubu and the FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike.
According to the group, the rally is to express gratitude for the appointment of notable persons from Bayelsa into key positions at the federal level.
Lead convener/leader of the Bayelsa State Chapter of the association, George Turnah, explained that the mega rally is the groups’ way of showing appreciation to the President as well as the FCT minister “for their efforts in empowering Bayelsa indigenes in the current administration.”
According to him, “the rally promises to be a vibrant celebration of unity, progress, and recognition of the contributions of Bayelsa’s finest to the nation’s growth and development.”
Recall that Governor Diri had said the group is not permitted to hold the rally in any part of the state.
The governor while addressing monarchs and other stakeholders in a meeting held in Yenagoa on Friday insinuated that the rally will be a serious security breach in the state.
It is no longer news that the Bayelsa state helmsman has been at loggerheads with the FCT minister following the latter’s political tussle with his predecessor and Governor of River State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara.
