Operatives of the Operation Puff Adder led by CSP Chris Nwaogbo have rescued two aides of the Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku.
The duo include Akari Loveday, Ogbuku’s domestic aide and his brother, Emmanuel Nathan Ogbuku.
It was gathered that the duo was kidnapped on Friday along the Ayakoro community river in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, hometown of the NDDC Managing Director, Dr Samuel Ogbuku.
Senior police sources told newsmen that the pressure mounted by the tactical team of the Operation Puff Adder, the Drone team of the State Commissioner of Police and a private drone company, and men of the Nigerian Navy (NNS Soroh) with the coverage of the river with gunboats led to the success of the rescue operation.
It was gathered that the kidnapped aides were abandoned at the Ayama burial ground after a hot exchange of gun fire.
The indigenes of Ayakoro community were thrown into jubilation following the successful rescue operation and the arrival of the police team and the rescued victims in the community.
