A special “spiritual deliverance” prayer service has been proposed by the mothers of the Niger Delta region for governors in the region over alleged bad governance and poor economic policies.
The service which is tagged “Niger Delta Governors Spiritual Deliverance Service Day” is scheduled for Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 12:00 pm at the Ijaw Monitoring Group (IMG) office in Lagos.
It was reported that the service, facilitated by the National Coordinator of the IMG, is to seek divine guidance and wisdom for the governors in the oil-rich region.
It was gathered that over 2,000 Bibles will also be distributed during the service, which will feature prayers seeking wisdom and patriotic spirit for the governors.
It was also gathered that the event’s organizers hope that the spiritual service will inspire the governors of the region to take bold steps to address current challenges and restore the region’s lost glory as inspired by the legacy of the region’s founding governors, such as HRM Alfred Diete-Spiff, Chief Udokobo Jacob Esuene, and Chief Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia, who drove development and industrialization in the region.
The organizers believe that the prayers of the mothers will bring about a positive transformation in the region’s leadership and ultimately lead to the development and prosperity of the Niger Delta.
