2027: Posters of Goodluck Jonathan with new political platform flood Kano

Posters of former President Goodluck Jonathan have surfaced in Kano, sparking speculation about his potential candidacy in the 2027 general elections.

The Vanguard reports that the posters, which feature the inscription of a new political platform, Team New Nigeria (TNN), were prominently displayed at strategic locations across the ancient city, including the Kano State Government House frontage, State Road walls, Audu Bako Secretariat, and the popular Dangi Bridge.

TNN is a nascent political platform reportedly awaiting registration as a full-fledged political party by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The platform claims nationwide membership with a base of approximately 26 million registered members.

The emergence of the posters has fueled discussions about the possibility of Goodluck Jonathan running for office under this new political banner, especially given TNN’s bold ambition to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the incumbent President, Bola Tinubu.

This development underscores TNN’s determination to position itself as a viable alternative to the APC. The party has publicly declared its intention to unseat the ruling party and create a new political landscape in Nigeria.

As the posters gain visibility, they raise questions about Jonathan’s potential return to active politics and TNN’s readiness to disrupt the existing political order.
