Diri, Agadaga, Oborodor, others join Cocodia in thanksgiving

The headquarters of Living Faith Chapel, in Bayelsa State, on Sunday, witnessed the presence of top government officials who joined the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, High Chief Collins Cocodia and his family in giving thanks to God.

Mangrovepen.ng gathered that the thanksgiving was in appreciation of God for his life, achievements, success stories despite several challenges, recent birthday, reappointment, and elevation as the Traditional Prime Minister of Kabowei Kingdom.

At the thanksgiving service, host pastor of Winners Chapel, Pastor Collins Nwaonu Chimaobi, thanked God for the Cocodia family for coming to appreciate God for their lives.

He urged the congregation to place all their hopes in the Creator of the universe, and He will in turn bless their heart desires, a statement by Patrick Ndubuisi, Media aide to Cocodia noted.

The reception which held at Pees Hub Event Center in Yenagoa, witnessed a large turnout of family and friends, colleagues, political associates, amongst others.

Governor Douye Diri in his remarks said the celebrant has performed exceptionally in his current office, describing him as a dogged personality with the penchant for achieving set goals, as he gave him thumbs up for taking the good step to appreciate God for his life.

Diri who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr. Peter Akpe, prayed for more elevation and more successes for the celebrant.

“Collins Cocodia is somebody that adds value, he brings experience to play in all the places he has found himself, S.A Political is to go for reconciliation, S.A Political is to go for rebuilding, restructuring, he does all.

“And for us we see him as a round peg in a round hole. Today he has come to give thanks to God. As a wise man and a man of understanding, he has gathered us here to say thank you and appreciate all of us for our support.

“My prayer for you Hon. Collins Cocodia is that greater and better days are coming ahead of you,” he said.

Senator Benson Agadaga, the Senator representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District, who was the Chairman of the occasion in his remarks showered encomium on the celebrant.

The Chairman of the State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Majesty, King Bubaraye Dakolo, Agadaga the IV, the Ebenanaowei of Ekpetiama Kingdom on his part, described Cocodia as a man who rallies the people for a common good.

Cocodia in his remarks, reaffirmed his total commitment to God Almighty, whom he stressed was responsible for the successes recorded since his sojourn into the political space, as he expressed his gratitude to all and sundry for honoring his invitation.

“Today, what am doing is to giving thanks to God first for my birthday, then secondly, for the Cocodia family. God has been faithful to my family for keeping me and my siblings alive after losing our father 42 years ago.

“Also, am using this to thank God for my reappointment. My reappointment, some felt it came late, some felt it got too late, some felt others worked for it not to come, but I felt that it was the timing of God.

“I will keep on thanking this God, rejoicing in him, and coming back every time to give thanks to him, because that is where my strength lies,” Cocodia said.

While appreciating Diri, his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, and all those who has helped him succeed in the political space, he also thanked the organizers of the ceremony.

The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, State Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Chairmen of the 32 Rural Development Authority, Delta State University, Abraka, Do Foundation, and the Alumni Association all relayed their goodwill messages at the event.
