Bayelsa legislator, Dr. Daniel Charles, has congratulated Governor Douye Diri on his victory at the Supreme Court.
The apex court affirmed Diri as the duly elected Governor of Bayelsa State in a ruling on Friday in Abuja.
The lawmaker’s congratulatory message was in a press statement made available to journalists in Yenagoa.
“The judgement of the apex court reflects and consolidates the decision of the bulk of Bayelsa voters,” he said.
He added that the judgement has rekindled the hope of the common masses in the judiciary.
Charles, who represents Brass Constituency I in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, declared that “there is no better person to lead Bayelsans presently than Diri.”
He stressed that the Bayelsa helmsman is passionate about developing the states. hence deserves the second stint in office.
While describing the concluded court cases as distractions, the lawmaker expressed that the governor can now focus more on implementing his people-oriented initiatives to Bayelsans.
He also urged the opposition in the state to take the ruling in good faith and join Diri in making Bayelsa better.
