The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Basin Development Authority (NDBDA), Prince Ebitimi Amgbare, has taken his tour of catchment assessment to Delta state where he visited three of the agency’s facilities located in Isokolo, Orogun, and Ovu.
The visits were in line with his drive to revitalize and boost agriculture in the Niger Delta region, the agency hinted in a statement made available to newsmen.
Mangrovepen.ng gathered that the NDBDA boss also paid a courtesy visit to the Delta State Government and was received by the Deputy Governor, Chief Monday John Onyeme.
Amgbare said: “We are to have a first hand assessment of the Authority’s facilities in the state as well as seek cooperation with the Delta State government in the NDBDA’s food security initiative.
“This is in line with the renewed hope mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
He informed his host that out of the 25 Local Government Areas in the state, 18 fall under the NDBDA.
Responding, the Delta state deputy governor appreciated the NDBDA helmsman for the visit and expressed the readiness of the state government to partner with the agency in achieving food security in the state.
According to the deputy governor, the visit by Amgbare and his team was timely, hinting that the state government had just set up a committee to address the issue of food security in the state.
Onyeme averred that the NDBDA has the expertise on the issue of food security which makes partnering with them logical.
He therefore told Amgbare that Delta state is very keen on partnering with the NDBDA because of the wealth of experience at its disposal.
Onyeme assured the NDBDA boss and his team that “the doors of the state government are always open for progressive partnerships for the good of the good people of Delta state.”
