SAIPEM Daewoo venture, NCDMB donate state-of-the-art ICT centre to Rivers school

The SAIPEM Daewoo Unincorporated Joint Venture (SCUJV), in collaboration with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Wednesday donated a well-equipped Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre to Bonny National Grammar School in Rivers State.

This was disclosed by the NCDMB via a statement shared on the board’s official Facebook page.

The NCDMB helmsman, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, FNSE, represented by the Manager, Midstream Operations, Mr. Patrick June, was quoted to have said the event marked a significant milestone in the efforts of the Board and SCUJV to aid digital education in the area.

“This state-of-the-art facility stands as a testament to our commitment to ensuring tangible benefits for Nigerians, especially our youths and able-bodied men and women from the oil- and gas-producing communities and environs,” he said.

The Principal of the school, Mr. Gift Nweke, expressed gratitude for the donation, while NCDMB and SCUJV emphasized their commitment to benefiting local youth and the community.

The NCDMB team also encouraged the community to utilize the center to its fullest potential.

Mr. Taridouye Gagariga, Manager, NCDMB Properties, who also spoke at the event urged the school to encourage members of the community to come in and use the facilities.

On the NCDMB team also were Mr. Pius Waritimi, Supervisor, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Mr Erefegha Kieriseiye, Officer, ICT Enterprise Systems and Hardware Consumables.

Mangrovepen.ng gathered that the new ICT Centre includes 31 personal computers, high-performance servers, security systems, video conferencing equipment, and other advanced technology, all housed in secure facilities.
