Ex-agitator Excel hails Otuaro for ongoing engagement with stakeholders

A Niger Delta ex-freedom fighter, Excel Yerindideke Toriomo, has commended the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, for his recent engagement with stakeholders in Warri, Delta state.

The ex-agitator said Otuaro has shown signs of good promise since assuming office, adding that his ongoing engagement with stakeholders is a testament of his good leadership qualities.

In a statement he signed and made available to Mangrovepen.ng Tuesday, Excel insisted that the PAP has since derailed from its core objectives of Disarmament, Demobilisation, and Rehabilitation. (DDR) of Niger Delta ex-agitators who fought and clamoured for resource control and the development of the region.

He said there have since been calls to appoint an insider, one who is part of the struggle to lead the PAP in order to refocus it to achieve its core mandate.

The Bayelsa-born ex-freedom fighter added that with the appointment of Otuaro, that call has been answered.

He therefore called on all ex-agitators including all persons from the Niger Delta to support the PAP boss to achieve greater things with the programme for the benefit of the whole region.

His words, “The Niger delta Presidential Amnesty had derailed from what it was established for. How soon we forget about the blood of our loved ones who fought bravely and started the arm struggle for the development of Niger delta region?

“I believe those who had that painful experience, especially those of us in phase 1, 2, and 3 of the PAP that actually engaged in the arms struggle will throw our weight behind Chief Dennis Otuaro because he knows about the struggle from the beginning.

“We must understand that chief Dennis Otuaro needs our support and prayers, morally, spiritually, and otherwise.

“Thus, let all hands be on deck to work hard to see how his administration will be impactful to the Niger delta region.”
