Super Eagles vs Argentina friendly gets venue, date

The high-profile friendly between the Super Eagles and world champions Argentina will be played at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, United States of America, on Tuesday, March 26.

The friendly was earlier scheduled to be held in China but was cancelled following discord between Argentina captain Lionel Messi and Chinese authorities.

It will be the Super Eagles’ first outing since the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final against the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire.

Daily Post reports that Nigeria and Argentina have met eight times in the past, with the latter recording six wins.

The Super Eagles have defeated La Albiceleste twice.

The West Africans will use the game to prepare for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers coming up in June against South Africa and Benin Republic.
