Rivers assembly clears 9 commissioners who resigned from Fubara’s cabinet

Port Harcourt—The Rivers State House of Assembly has rescreened and cleared all nine former commissioners who resigned from Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s cabinet in the wake of the political crisis rocking the state.

Recall that the commissioners had, in November last year, tendered their resignation letters amid the face-off between Fubara and his predecessor, former Governor Nyesom Wike, now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

The Daily Post reports that, however, Fubara, a few days ago, resubmitted the names of the nine nominees to the State House of Assembly for clearance.

During plenary on Wednesday, the former commissioners were asked to take ‘a bow and leave’ the chamber.
