Yenagoa—Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, the minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Tuesday, visited former president Goodluck Jonathan at his residence in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
The minister recalled that he served as Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly during the Alamieyeseigha/Jonathan administration.
According to him, the former president is an amazing father and pride of contemporary Nigeria.
“Our support to you is paramount,” said Lokpobiri, “because you are our father, our pride and the best donation to Nigeria ever.”
He said it was his desire as well as a necessity for him to visit the revered ex-president at any point in time.
“It was necessary for me to come and visit and pay you homage.
“It is also my desire that I can come to visit you at any point in time as a father,” the oil minister expressed.
Lokpobiri equally wished Jonathan and his entire household a prosperous new year, admitting that he feels fulfilled having visited him on the second day of the new, promising year.
In his remark, Jonathan thanked Lokpobiri for the visit and congratulated him on his ministerial appointment.
“Let me use this medium to officially congratulate you on your appointment as minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“In your new office, you shall succeed and Bayelsa will indeed be proud of you,” the former president said.
Mangrovepen.ng gathered that the minister was accompanied by Hon. Israel Sunny-Goli, a former member of the House of Representatives, Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri, president of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) and Hon. Tare Porri, a member of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.
Also in Lokpobiri’s entourage was another Bayelsa lawmaker, Hon. Living Mitin, Hon. Osomkime Blankson, Hon. Eddi Julius, Hon. Orubebe Ogeibiri, inter alia.
