Pro-Diri group distributes food, other items to Bayelsans

Yenagoa—A political group, Grassroot Movement for the Re-election of Governor Douye Diri and his deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo—a nongovernmental organization, today distributed souvenirs, foodstuff and other materials to some less privileged Bayelsans.

The event which was organized centrally in Yenagoa attracted not only ordinary Bayelsans but dignitaries who used the medium to rally support for the re-election of Governor Douye Diri in Saturday’s governorship election.

Speaking at the event, the Bayelsa central coordinator of the group, Hon. Abel Ebifemowei, coordinator of Bayelsa West, Hon. Alex Jenakumo, and deputy coordinator, Hon. Charity Kens Godwin in their separate remarks said Governor Douye Diri has done very well by bringing prosperity to the people.

“The major reason the masses are clamouring for Diri’s re-election is that he has done well and brought prosperity to Bayelsans.

“The mammoth crowd of supporters gathered here tell us one simple story that our “talk na do” Governor deserves a second tenure after the robust scorecard of the first tenure,” they said.

Hon George Turner, deputy Coordinator, Bayelsa East, Chief Natus Zebakame, deputy Coordinator, Bayelsa Central, and others also spoke at the event.

They described the Diri/Law re-election movement “as a foundation laid by concerned Bayelsans for good governance who have deplored their personal resources and as well dedicated themselves to the growth and development of Bayelsa State.”
