Guinness World Record confirms feat achieved by Bayelsa football freestyler

Yenagoa—Bayelsa-Born football Juggler and freestyler, Tonye Solomon’s feat of being the first person to take the most steps (150) when climbing on a ladder while balancing a football on the head has been officially recognized and confirmed by the Guinness World Records (GWR).

Solomon, popularly known as Ballboy Tonye, has therefore clinched the Guinness World Record for the Most steps climbed on a ladder while balancing a football on the head.

The Guinness World Record confirmed Tonye’s record-breaking feat in a statement on Thursday.

“The most steps climbed on a ladder while balancing a football (soccer ball) on the head is 150, and was achieved by Tonye Solomon (Nigeria), in Yenagoa, Nigeria, on 10 August 2023.

“Tonye attempted this record to challenge himself and to inspire others to do great things. He spent 2 months training for the attempt until he was confident he could achieve the record.”

Recall Tonye climbed 150 steps on a ladder while balancing a ball on his head, breaking the extant 70 steps.

The ball freestyler climbed the ladder of a telecommunications mast located at hospital road in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital to achieve the world record feat.

A representative of GWR, Mr. Chukwuebuka Ezugha was there to monitor the event.
