Okpoama Youths set to hold maiden youth programme

Brass—The Okpoama Kingdom Youth Movement (OKYM) under the leadership of Engr. Seiyefa Ben-Basuo is set to host the maiden 4-day International Youth Day Programme in Okpoama Kingdom in Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The programme which is billed to hold from 10th-13 August will include fun games and other activities like a novelty football tournament, talent shows, masquerade displays as well as award presentations to worthy personalities in the community.

The programme would also include a fundraising event on the 12th of August to raise money for the completion of an ongoing youth secretariat as well as to fund other programmes initiated by the youth body.

Mangrovepen.ng gathered that the event will be graced by notable personalities and illustrious sons and daughters of the Kingdom including HRM King Ebitimi E. Banigo OFR, Okpo XXI, Ibeyanaowei of Okpoama Kingdom, H.E. Chief Timipre Sylva, former governor of Bayelsa State, Hon. Justice Daniel Ayah, President, Customary Court of Appeal, Bayelsa State who is the chairman of the occasion.

The youth president, in a chat with our reporter, said It is good to celebrate the youths given the critical role they play in the advancement and development of societies across the world.

While urging all Okpoama youths to take part in the programme, Ben-Basuo explained that their participation will help accomplish the purpose for which the programme is being created.

He however hinted that the youth body is open to sponsorship and collaboration from well-meaning individuals and organizations to make the programme a huge success.
