NLC set to go ahead with protest today

Abuja—The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has denied suspending its planned nationwide protest, insisting that the protest will go ahead today.

In a circular signed and released by the NLC president, Comr. Joe Ajaero yesterday, Labour disclosed that although it held a meeting with the Federal Government on Tuesday, that does not change its resolve as “custodians of the interest and desires of the Nigerian workers and people.”

While advising Nigerians to ignore ‘fifth columnist’ who they said is working against the interest of the Nigerian people, Labour urged its members and all Nigerians to come out in their respective states to vent their collective resolve in protestation.

The demands of NLC amongst other things include the immediate reversal of all anti-poor policies of government including the recent hike in PMS price, school fees, and VAT.
