Yenagoa—Bayelsa Entertainers under the aegis of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Entertainment Forum have thrown their weight behind the re-election bid of Governor Douye Diri in the forthcoming Bayelsa State governorship election.
The group made up of singers, content creators, thespians, and influencers in Bayelsa PDP said it has resolved to ensure the retention of Diri in creek haven, adding that the governor will do more for entertainment in his second term.
In a statement signed by its chairman, Hon. Douye Asu who is also the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Entertainment the forum said reelecting Diri will give the state government the “opportunity to discover, nurture and support the many talents of entertainers in the land.”
The group further maintained that there is no better platform than its medium for entertainers to directly get government access, calling on other entertainment groups in the state to join in ensuring the continuity of the Diri-led Prosperity Government.
While disclosing Diri’s promise to carry the entertainers along, the group expressed belief in the Governor to fulfill his promise when reelected into office for a second term.
The Diri-led state government has “listening ears” to the yearnings of the people, the entertainers concluded.
