Bayelsa Chief Judge honours retirees, commends Diri

Yenagoa—The Chief Judge of Bayelsa State, Justice Matilda Abrakasa Ayemieye, on Wednesday, 7th June 2023, honoured 5 retirees of the state High Court for meritoriously serving the Judiciary between 18 and 34 years.

A statement issued by Mr. Julius Nyananyo, Head of Media & Information, High Court of Justice, said that the ceremony was an epoch-making event in the annals of the High Court.

In her remarks, the Chief Judge expressed gratitude to God for the lives of the retirees and that they were still part of the Judiciary family, and also presented gifts to them.

She also thanked Governor Douye Diri for giving the Judiciary the enabling environment to carry out its duties effectively.

Earlier in his opening remarks the Chief Registrar of the High Court, Amaebi Orukari, thanked the Chief Judge for Hosting the retirees and also appreciated the retirees for their services.

In his goodwill message, Hon Justice Daniel Ayah, President of the Customary Court of Appeal, expressed his joy for the retirees and wished them well in their retirement.

In a similar vein, the Chairman of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, Comrade Temekori Dirikebamoh expressed gratitude to the chief Judge for honouring her members and promised a continued good working relationship with the management.

Responding on behalf of the retirees, Mrs. Ayibatonye Etete, thanked the Chief Judge and management for celebrating and honouring them.
