Abuja—Member-elect for the Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency, Engr. Rodney Ambaiowei has assured constituents that he will explore all available measures in discharging his duties in the House of Representatives.
This is to improve the living standard of his people and bring sustainable development to various communities in the Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency, he said.
Ambaiowei made the assurance through a statement by his Media aide, Mike Makpah on Friday following the end of the 10th National Assembly induction/orientation programme for Batch A.
The first-time federal lawmaker in the statement also expressed his profound gratitude to God and the good people of Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency for giving him the mandate to represent them in the Green chamber.
He said the privilege to serve his people can never be taken for granted, stressing that he will do all within his powers to perform above par and bring smiles to constituents.
The induction/orientation programme is organised to educate incoming members on the roles of the lawmakers, the customs and processes in the National Assembly, among others.
This is crucial, according to the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), as more than 70% of the federal lawmakers entering the 10th Assembly are first-time representatives.
The management, under the direction of the Clerk to the National Assembly, Sani Tambawal, tasked the members-elect to give it their all and work cooperatively to achieve the set goals.
