PAP reveals reason for delay in April stipends

Port Harcourt—The Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) has expressed regret in the delay in payment of stipends of ex-agitators for April 2023.

The Amnesty office which made this known in a statement by the Special Assistant on Media to the Interim Administrator, Freston Akpor, on Sunday, said the development is due to the delay in funding from the federation account.

The statement partly reads, “The PAP is mindful of its commitment and has always prioritized payment on the 26th of every month.

“Accordingly, the Interim Administrator hereby assures beneficiaries that payment for April will be effected immediately after allocation is received from the federation account.”

“While this delay is regretted, the PAP wishes to express appreciation to all beneficiaries for their patience and understanding.”
