NDDC MD, Ogbuku visits Uniport, seeks collaboration

Port Harcourt—Students, management and entire staff of the University of Port Harcourt in Rivers State on Monday, welcomed the Mananging Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku and his entourage on a one-day working visit to the University.

Mangrovepen.ng gathered that the visit is the first since his appointment as NDDC helmsman.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Owunari Georgewill in his remarks acknowledged Ogbuku’s contribution in the development of the Niger Delta, stating that “the University is very proud of you. That is why we rolled out the drums to receive you.

“It is very rare for the University to do so and this is one of those rare occasions.”

Ogbuku, who is an Alumnus of the University, appreciated the university for the warm reception.

His visit provides the NDDC a first hand opportunity to engage the management of the school to identify their needs and seek partnership where necessary.

“We are here to know the various needs of the University, partner with the University in terms of research and provide immediate intervention where necessary,” he said.

Highlight of the occasion was the performances of the Theater Arts and Musical Department of the University.
