PDP stalwart hails Diri for being sole guber aspirant, wants compensation for NASS, state assembly aspirants

Yenagoa—A stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Mr. Peretimi Angasei has congratulated Governor Douye Diri for being the sole aspirant in the forthcoming PDP primaries for the November 11 Bayelsa guber election.

At a media parley organised in Yenagoa on Saturday, Angasei said “Diri’s outstanding performance and peaceful nature in the last three years have endeared him not only to the Bayelsa PDP Family but also all Bayelsans who want continuity of good governance.

“I must thank Bayelsa PDP stakeholders for unanimously agreeing to allow Diri to seek reelection without any form of distraction, knowing the party would need to remain united and battle-ready to win this year’s governorship election.”

He advised the Bayelsa governor to continue with his developmental strides and prioritize the safety and security of all Bayelsans.

“As long as Governor Diri continues in this progressive path of transforming our state for good and keeps Bayelsa PDP united, he will record a landslide victory come November 11,” he expressed.

Angasei also admonished the state PDP leadership to redeem its earlier promise of reimbursing aspirants who picked the expression of interest and nomination in the last national and state assembly elections.

“Now that the general elections are over, His Excellency Governor Douye Diri who is the leader of our great party PDP in Bayelsa State should redeem his promise of compensating all aspirants that gave up their political ambitions for the various flag bearers in the general elections.”

The PDP stalwart opined that such reimbursement would motivate affected PDP stakeholders to be more committed to delivering PDP in the coming guber poll.
