Vote any candidate of your choice, Bayelsa Monarch, Banigo tells subjects

Brass—His Royal Majesty, King Ebitimi Banigo of Okpoama Kingdom in Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, has told all organs in the kingdom to ensure the people turn out en masse to vote freely for any candidate of their choice in the March 11th House of Assembly Elections in Bayelsa State.

The monarch stated this in a letter addressed to the people of Okpoama Kingdom dated 7th March 2023.

He said anybody who causes disruption or breaches the peace of the Kingdom before, during and after the election will be severely sanctioned, adding that the people must be allowed to freely exercise their franchise.

The letter reads in part:

“Every Okpoama Citizen is therefore enjoined to ensure peaceful elections without violence.

“The Election Monitoring Committee, the Ibe Koko (Action Committee), the Chiefs and the youths are to actively engage in protecting the right of every Okpoama citizen to vote for candidates of their choice.”

King Banigo however commended the people for a peaceful Presidential and National Assembly elections on the 25th of February 2023 and enjoined them to make the March 11th, 2023 election peaceful.
