Bayelsa election: Lyon solicits right of first refusal

Abuja—Chief David Lyon, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and an aspirant in the upcoming Bayelsa governorship election in the state has demanded the ‘right of first refusal’ of the party’s ticket.

Lyon who won the 2019 governorship election in the state had his election nullified by the Supreme Court due to discrepancies in the certificates of his running mate.

He made this known in the party’s headquarters in Abuja during the submission of his Nomination/Expression of Interest forms.

“I submitted my nomination/intent forms to contest the governorship primary of Bayelsa state under the platform of our great party, the All Progressives Congress.

“Allow me to request our great party the APC to grant me the right of first refusal,” he said.

It will be recalled that supporters of the former APC candidate had last week purchased the Nomination and Expression of Interest forms for him.
