Christmas bonus: a fitting new year gift, says Diri’s spokesman

Yenagoa—The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, Mr. Daniel Alabrah has described the payment of Christmas bonus to civil servants in the state as a “fitting new year gift.”

It will be recalled that the Bayelsa State Government on Friday commenced the payment of Christmas bonus to civil servants in the State.

In a chat with our reporter, Alabrah stated that Diri has shown that his administration’s prosperity mantra is not a ruse.

According to him, “It is a further manifestation that the administration cares about the welfare and well-being of the state’s civil servants.

“That is the reason he has not only prioritised their welfare but is also committed to the shared prosperity of all Bayelsans.”

Alabrah further revealed that for years, workers in the state have been clamouring for the payment of the allowance.

“For many years, civil servants in the state have clamoured and looked forward to a 13th-month salary or allowance.

“The listening governor of the state eventually heard their cry.

“This is a fitting new year gift for all civil servants in the state,” he stated.
