Yenagoa—A socio-political group, APC Integrity Group has applauded the defection of some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Bayelsa State.
The group which noted that it hopes more PDP members defect to SDP added that it will enable the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State to take over government in 2024.
In a statement by its coordinator, Mr. Fred Ayabowei, the group averred that the defections of some chieftains of the PDP to SDP are legitimate.

The statement added that no reasonable humiliated PDP member that worked with the former Governor Dickson to make Senator Douye Diri governor, will be comfortable and happy with the government’s alleged show of ingratitude and incompetence.
The group alleged that “it’s the inconsistency of the governor in the selection of his candidates that has made them to defect and it’s our prayers that many should still defect to other political parties.”
