Reconciliation talks between Atiku/Wike postponed

Port Harcourt—The reconciliation talks scheduled to hold on Monday between the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar and Rivers Governor, Nyesom Wike may have been postponed.

This according to the Nation newspaper is because the Adamawa Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri who leads the Atiku team, was engaged in a different political event in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.

Atiku, earlier on Monday accompanied by the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu; former Vice President Namadi Sambo and Delta Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, among other PDP chieftains, were in Yola to receive some defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

It was reported that as the PDP leader in the state, Fintiri was activity engaged with programme of activities leading to the reception of the APC defectors.

Meanwhile, Governor Wike was also said to be engaged with activities lined up to mark the 74th birthday of former Rivers Governor Peter Odili in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

The Wike team is being led by a former Ondo Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko.

The source, who spoke under a condition of anonymity, however said the two teams was yet to decide on a new date for the reconciliation talks.
