Group holds maiden SEC meeting, pledges support for Diri-led govt

Yenagoa—A socio-political group, the 4+4 Prosperity Movement has held its first State Executive Committee (SEC) meeting in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

The meeting which took place on Thursday at the group’s Secretariat in Okaka, Yenagoa, had in attendance politicians, particularly leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Mangrovepen.ng gathered that the meeting among other things was convened to galvanize support for the Senator Douye Diri-led administration and ensure that the PDP maintains its political dominance in the state come 2023.

Members of the group present at the meeting also restated their total commitment and unflinching support for the Diri-led administration.

They expressed readiness to galvanize support for the government from the nooks and crannies of the State.

The high point of the meeting was the consideration and adoption of the preliminary report on preparations towards the proposed inauguration of the group, commissioning of Secretariat and decoration of Grand Patron, as presented by the inauguration planning committee.

The meeting also considered and ratified the appointment of the executive members of the Movement for Sagbama, Southern Ijaw, Ekeremor, Brass, Yenagoa and Ogbia Local Government Areas.

The group at the meeting approved the setting up of a fundraising committee with the Managing Director of the Bayelsa Electricity Board, Engr. Olice Kemenanabo as Chairman, Honourable Attorney General of Bayelsa State, Mr. Biriyai Dambo SAN and the Technical Adviser to the Governor on Protocol, Mr. Joe Waribagha as members.

Other members are Secretary of the PDP South South Zone, Chief Felix Omemu and Technical Adviser to the Governor on Partnership, Mrs. Ebizi Ndiomu Brown.

A former Senior Special Assistant to Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Domestic Affairs, Hon. Dr. S.G Obriki is to serve as Secretary of the committee.

The SEC commended the efforts of the management team of the group, led by its Director General, the member representing Nembe Constituency 1 in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Ebi Ben Ololo.

They commended him for the way he has managed the affairs of the organisation since its inception.

The meeting was attended by over 100 grassroots politicians across the 8 Local Government Areas of the State.
