Nembe—The lawmaker representing Nembe Constituency III in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Chief Sampson Douglas has been commended for facilitating the construction of a 150m concrete road in Iseleogono community, Nembe Local Government Area.
The commendation was given when the king of Iseleogono, His Highness, Tariekipre Teki led a delegation to pay the lawmaker a visit at his residence in Yenagoa, the state capital.
While pouring encomiums on the lawmaker for keeping his campaign promises, the king also thanked Governor Douye Diri for releasing the constituency development fund that was used to execute the road project.
While speaking, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Hon. Dogiye Sylva, appreciated the lawmaker for the road, describing it as a landmark project that will benefit the entire people of the community.
According to him, this is the first time in twenty years Iseleogono community is having this kind of developmental project from the government.
He thanked the lawmaker “for a job well done and we pray for God to strengthen you to continue living up to the responsibilities of your exalted office.”
Elected in 2019 under the platform of the APC, Chief Douglas Sampson is the minority leader of the state assembly.
Mangrovepen.ng gathered that the lawmaker facilitated the road as part of his constituency project, in line with his campaign promises.
“I am pleased with your show of appreciation for the little we are doing to improve the living standard of our people.
“This visit would spur me to do more for our people who sent me to the state assembly.
“Let me assure you all that I will facilitate more of such projects to Iseleogono and other communities if you reelect me in 2023,” the lawmaker said while responding to the delegation from Iseleogono.
