…as lawmaker promises to work for betterment of constituents
Brass—Chairman of Brass Local Government Council, Hon. Victor Isaiah has congratulated the trio of Dr. Charles Daniel, Barr. Austin Adigio and Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere on their emergence as flag bearers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the just-concluded PDP House of Assembly primaries.
In the primaries conducted yesterday in the three constituencies in the area, Charles emerged as the unanimous candidate of the PDP in Brass constituency I; Adigio won in Brass Constituency II, while Ingobere clinched the ticket for Brass constituency III.
Isaiah in a statement signed by his spokesman, Lukas Pekene described the PDP as a united and peaceful family, adding that the credible conduct of the elections is a testament to the fact.
“We are one united family and peaceful people that is why we have had a free, fair and credible primary election.
“I hereby congratulate this formidable trio who will be flying our party flag in our three constituencies for the Bayelsa State House of Assembly Elections come next year.
“There is no victor, no vanquished because this is a family affair,”the chairman reportedly said.
Meanwhile, the PDP candidate and lawmaker representing Brass Constituency I has said he will make the party proud and fly its flag to greater prominence.
The lawmaker in a statement issued on Sunday thanked delegates, party members and leaders of the party for their support and for what he described as the privilege to fly the party ticket to re-contest the assembly seat.
While he expressed confidence that the PDP will emerge victorious in the state assembly elections in 2023, Charles assured that he will continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to his constituents.
The statement partly reads, “I cheerfully thank the ten delegates, members, and leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Brass Constituency I for unanimously giving me the privilege of flying the party ticket to re-contest the Bayelsa State House of Assembly seat come 2023.
“The support I have enjoyed since I officially joined the party has been overwhelming. And, no doubt, the confidence reposed in me today will help me fly the PDP flag higher to even greater prominence.
“Let me assure all party faithful that we will coast to victory in the forthcoming election and deliver the dividends of democracy to the good people of Brass Constituency I as we have done so far in the last three years.
“I remain immensely grateful to Governor Douye Diri and his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo for their constant support and leadership. Their exemplary footsteps are a guide for legislators like myself to emulate in our service to the people.”
He thanked his constituents for the mandate, assuring that if he is reelected back to the office he will consolidate his performance and work for their sustained progress.
