Yenagoa—Friends of the lawmaker representing Brass constituency I in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Dr. Daniel Charles on Wednesday bought the PDP nomination and expression of interest forms for his re-election bid in the 2023 elections.
The friends who are stakeholders from Ward 1, 2 & 6 expressed satisfaction over the lawmaker’s representation in the state assembly and believe that he should be returned for a second term.
The friends include Hon. Hanson Alabo Karika, Hon. Eremi S.D Eke-Spiff, Hon. Felix Sam-Ateki, Comr. ThankGod Singer, Chief Ifiemi George, Hon. Ayebaesin Ayebaemi, Hon. Dan-Suobo Toinpre, Chief Ebifate Ila and Mr. Spiff Biriyai Quincy.
In a chat with our reporter, one of the friends and senior special assistant to Governor Douye Diri, Hon. Eremi S.D Eke-Spiff said the gesture was to encourage the lawmaker and support his re-election bid.
He said the people of Brass Constituency 1 need Dr. Charles to continue with his good representation in the state legislature which, he said, has yielded positive results so far.
The governor’s aide also rallied support for the lawmaker, by urging constituents across board to give him the needed support in the forthcoming general elections.
He said, “the least we could do for our dear friend, brother, and performing representative was to purchase the nomination and expression of interest forms for him.
“We did it to reduce the huge financial burden on him and to also assure him that we are solidly behind him as we enter the election season.”
Mangrovepen.ng gathered that so far only Dr. Charles has picked his form to contest the Brass constituency 1 seat in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Meanwhile, Dr. Daniel Charles earlier on Thursday submitted his expression of interest/nomination forms to re-contest the Brass Constituency I assembly seat.
