Bayelsa agric commissioner celebrates father, Prof. Alagoa on his birthday, describes him as a wise sage

Yenagoa—The Commissioner for Agriculture, David Alagoa has celebrated his father and foremost historian, Emeritus Prof. Ebiegbegri Joe Alagoa on the occasion of his 89th birthday anniversary today.

In a statement sent to mangrovepen.ng, Alagoa described the retired academic as a teacher, patriot, trailblazer, quintessential historian, and an intelligent sage whom he is proud to call a father.

He said growing up he has always looked up to his father as a role model, stressing that Prof Alagoa is the best father anyone could have.

The commissioner thanked Prof. Alagoa for raising him and his siblings in the way that he did, saying that all his successes in life so far would not have been possible if not for the good upbringing he graciously had.

Alagoa thanked God for the long and impactful life his father has led so far and prayed to God for more years in good health for Prof. Alagoa.

“Thank you for raising me to be the man I am today, and as a result, all of my life successes so far can only be attributed to you and the good manner in which you brought me and my siblings up. I want to say thank you Daddy for your huge investment in us.

“I thank God for the good and impactful life you have led thus far; the countless lives you have touched throughout your great career as a teacher and historian and I pray for more years of good health for you. Happy birthday Dad.”
