Port Harcourt—Aides to the wife of the Minister of Transportation, Judith Amaechi have called on her husband, Rotimi Amaechi to join the race to contest the seat of the president of Nigeria in the 2023 elections.
In a statement jointly signed by Dr. Dike Lawrence Bekwele and Chief Chima Nnokam, the aides said Amaechi has demonstrated capacity to lead while as governor and currently as minister.
They described the former governor of Rivers State as a detribalized Nigerian who is desirous of promoting national unity and diversity, stressing that Nigeria more than ever needs a man of Ameachi’s competence to pilot its affairs.
The aides stressed that having been a two-term governor and minister, Amaechi possesses all the experience needed to lead Nigerian people to their destiny.
They maintained that Amaechi has been one of the leading lights and pillars of the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration by spearheading the transformation now seen in the transportation sector of the country, particularly in the rail subsector.
The statement, therefore, urged President Buhari to throw his weight behind Amaechi if and when he declares to join the presidential race as a reward for Amaechi’s loyalty and service to him and the APC-led federal government over the past six years.
