Bayelsa senator makes mysterious Facebook post ahead of 2023 elections

Yenagoa—The lawmaker representing Bayelsa Central in the Nigerian Senate, Chief Cleopas Moses has made a mysterious post on Facebook which has left Bayelsans wondering with divergent comments and views.

Cleopas who is the immediate past chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State, on Saturday, made an ambiguous post on his Facebook page

According to him, “God stands by us when we are down. He encourages us when we think of quitting. He guides us when things seem confusing. He cares and engraces us with virtues of triumph when we function in the office of His Will.

“Watch out for the reality of the ‘SUNAMI’ (sic) that we had avoided and prayed it never happens. Obviously, it is not in our hands and it is not our making.

“Time and season it happened to all… The hour has finally come…how I wish they avoided it.”

The post has so far attracted considerable comments from Bayelsans on Facebook with one Alpheus F. Victory commenting thus:

“Forget the distraction for people and be focused on your assignments, God is up looking and ruleth over the affairs of men and I know it will be in your favour my senator.”

Another Facebook user with the name Richard Perekeme asked that “How long will you make refutal, pleading and begging for a system we suffered and put our lives and blood and to a point became a political mockery and God turned it for us?

“Now some are using the same system against some individuals to achieve their political careers.  God dey (sic)

“We’ll mention their activities and utterances in 2019 to the public and allow the public to decide.”

Also commenting on the post, renowned Niger Delta youth leader and activist, Comr. Wisdom Ikuli eulogized Senator Cleopas, describing him as one of the most humble and accessible leaders in the state.

“As much as we all know that Politics is a Game of interest and that maneuvering is part of it, the above should not be at the expense of reward for loyalty, commitment, and competence.

“First-hand information at my disposal from different quarters indicate that Senator Cleopas is among the few Bayelsa Leaders that are very accessible, besides the fact that he has remained a problem solver.

“Leadership at that level entails and revolves around the above.

“It is my fervent prayer that Almighty God will continue to watch over you in the midst of grand conspiracies,” Ikuli stated.
