I will step into Buhari’s shoes, says Tinubu, tells APC senators to support his presidential bid

Abuja—The National leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and presidential aspirant, Bola Tinubu has asked the Senate Caucus of the APC to support his presidential ambition ahead of the 2023 election.

According to reports by the Vanguard newspaper, Tinubu stated this when he met with the APC Senate Caucus at the senate president’s conference room on Wednesday.

The former Governor of Lagos State argued that having served as a state Chief Executive Officer and as a Senator, he has the experience and capacity to be the President of Nigeria.

He promised that he will not step on the toes of President Muhammadu Buhari, but step into his shoes as the President of Nigeria.

Tinubu hailed the National Assembly for sustaining the nation’s democracy, adding that without the legislature Nigeria’s democracy is a sham.

He also maintained that the interest of women is necessary and noted that APC is doing its best to include the interest of women in governance.

The APC National Leader was received by the APC senators as led by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan in room 30.
