Yenagoa—Mr. Fortune God’sSon Alfred, a social commentator, has commended the Bayelsa state Governor, Senator Douye Diri for restoring pipe-borne water in some parts of Yenagoa, the state capital.
Fortune in a Facebook post on Tuesday said the Diri-led administration deserves commendation for the feat especially when the state has been without running water for years.
He however charged the state government to ensure that every part of the state capital is served with running water and as well in all eight local government areas that make up the state.
In his words: “The video of government-provided pipe-borne water at Osiri road, Yenagoa gladdens my heart and I, therefore, commend the Diri administration for the steps toward restoring water.
“I call on the Government to further empower the Ministry of Water Resources to extend water reticulation to other parts of the City as well as revive abandoned water schemes in the various LGAs such as the mega ones in Ogbia LGA.”
Fortune maintained that the execution of the water project would impact the lives of Bayelsans positively and would ensure that the people have hygienic, portable water in their homes for domestic use.
