Youths in Bayelsa community protest against incessant killings

Emakalakala—Youths of Emakalakala community in Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa state Wednesday embarked on a peaceful protest to register their displeasure over the spate of killings in the community.

In a statement sent to mangrovepen.ng and signed by Julius Abaiyabaiya Castro, the
youth president of Emakalakala community, the youths called on leaders and elders in the community to put stringent measures in place before perpetrators of the evil act kill more innocent people.

“We use this medium to call on leaders of the community to stand up and take urgent measures before the perpetrators of this evil act squeeze out life from more innocent souls.

“Things are getting out of hand, our people cannot freely go to their farmlands, where they make their daily living, nor sleep with their both eyes closed for fear of terror.

“We also use this medium to drag the attention of the State Government to the happenings and to proffer a lasting solution for the people of Emakalakala Community,” the statement reads.
