Appoint our leader, other party faithful, PDP members in Bayelsa community plead with Diri

Ogbia—Some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Otuegila community in Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa State have called on Governor Douye Diri to appoint Hon. Sowari Francis Peter and other party faithful in the community.

This was contained in an open letter addressed to Governor Diri by the Otuegila PDP Political Like Minds and signed by Henry T. Egaipu, coordinator, Hope Peter, deputy coordinator and PDP ward 12 Treasurer and Azibakayam Sunday, publicity secretary.

They commended Diri for his charismatic leadership style and the impressive number of projects his administration is currently executing.

The concerned PDP members highlighted some of the travails they said to have suffered as dedicated members of the party.

The letter reads in part:

“Sir, it’s on this note that we want to notify you on the level at which the authentic party faithful in Otuegila Community who took bullets and abuses just to make sure we return you and our party back to power and we succeeded as agents of steadfastness.

“Sir, if our leader who stood and stuck his neck for the victory of the party in our village is not being carried along as regards appointment, contract and empowerment then of what stake do we have as a people to believe that our party has touched the grassroots.

“Sir, there’s no need hiding anything from the public and also to our supporters in the village that we have not felt any sense of belonging as loyalists and members of the ruling party PDP as regards motivation and inclusion in any form best known to us as a people and his supporters.

“Sir, the system is about recruiting a known opposition member who humiliated our leader Hon. Sowari Francis Peter before, during and after the election by destroying every belonging of Hon. Sowari, a former acting secretary of Otuegila community, youth secretary, vice president and former Ogbia Rural Development Authority member and PDP leader in Otuegila Community thereby giving attention to people that will desert the party when the chips are down and return to where their hearts lie because ‘no matter how you feed a goat it will still eat your yam when hunger hits it.’

“Sir, Most people aren’t bold enough to clear the air due to victimization but as concerned people of Otuegila Community we have killed that fear of victimization since our leader Hon. Sowari Francis Peter’s destiny is not tied to any political party nor persons but God in heaven and ourselves as a people.

“Sir, it’s on this note that we are calling on your attention to aid our leader and other diehard party faithful as the political climate of 2022 and 2023 is about taking its dimension.”
