IPMAN vows to fight oil theft and tanker blockade of roads

Awka—President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers of Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Elder Chinedu Okonronko, has assured that the organization is committed in the fight against oil theft and blockage of roads by oil tankers in the South-South and South-East geopolitical zones.

He gave the assurance at the formal inauguration of Hon. Sunday Chukwemeka also known as Sunny Big man as the IPMAN Coordinator in Anambra State.

According to him, although President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) have commended IPMAN for its efforts in the fight against oil theft, the organization will not relent in its duty.

The IPMAN President also warned those engaged in illegal marketing of petroleum products and blockade of roads to stop immediately,

“Petroleum Marketers will not be allowed to engage in illegal activities. The roads should be cleared,” he said.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Bayelsa Chapter of IPMAN, Hon. Bello Bina, said though the task is tedious, the organization will work towards eliminating oil theft and pipeline vandalism.

In his remarks, the newly appointed Chairman of the Anambra Chapter of IPMAN, Hon. Sunday Chukwemeka, expressed readiness to work with security agencies to end oil theft, tanker blockage of roads and other illegal activities.

He equally warned that anyone caught will be arrested.
