Seun Kuti, the Nigerian singer, says he cannot leave Yetunde Kuti, his wife, even if she cheats on him.
The couple featured on the Valentine’s edition of TVC’s Your View where they spoke about their deal-breakers.
Yetunde said infidelity is not a deal-breaker for her, adding that she will not leave Seun if he cheats on her.
“I am not going to leave my husband because he cheated on me. Nah. That cannot happen,” she said.
On his part, the Afrobeat singer corroborated his wife’s opinion on infidelity.
“We do not believe in cheating. No. I will not leave her. What does that get to do with anything?” he said.
“Let me tell you something about Africa. African men knew this 500 years ago, 300 years ago, 200 years ago. But today we African men are forming as if we do not know what is going on.
“In Africa, only your sister’s children inherit from you. Because they are the only ones you are sure are your blood. The heir to the king is the sister’s child. Not his own children. Because he is not sure.
“I am not saying it is okay that my wife cheats on me. African men knew that your blood was matrilineal. Even though she is not your sister’s husband’s child, you are sure she is your sister’s child which is your blood.
“There is no such thing as cheating. Love is not ownership.”
